As we live in a dualistic realm, there is separation between all things, and this is what creates the diversity of life. Learn more about the phenomenon of duality, and better ways to navigate your life experience within it.

  • The Law Of Duality: An Easy To Understand Guide

Part of what makes our universe such an interesting place is the contrast. The law of duality, an inseparable feature of our universe makes all of these diverse experiences possible – from the highest highs to the lowest lows and everything in between.

Everything that you have experienced is the result of opposing forces working synergistically to create the system we call life. The beautiful sunsets, the cold winter nights, and every emotion that can be felt are part of this broader system of duality.

For many people, the concept of duality forever remains as a vague, wishy-washy concept. Therefore, I’ve tasked myself with breaking down this rather complicated concept in a way that just makes sense!

What is the meaning of duality?

So, what does duality mean? At the roots, duality refers to the quality of being dual – meaning there are two opposing or complementary parts of the same thing. For example, you can’t have light without dark, or hot without cold because they’re opposite sides of the same spectrum.

When we say that our universe is dualistic, we’re referring to how everything exists along a spectrum. These spectrums create polarity. Their relationship can be complementary, competitive, cyclical, and opposing. If duality didn’t exist, neither would these dynamics. Everything would exist in absolutes which obviously wouldn’t support life.

Without this contrast, there would be no diversity in life because everything would be the same. There would be no opposites or relationships between different things. This is why the duality of life refers to separate parts of the same phenomenon working together to create a whole – or a system. Life as we know it simply wouldn’t function without duality.

With that said, there are different lenses we can see duality including philosophically, spiritually, and psychologically.

Duality permeates every part of life as it exists in our thoughts, emotions, actions, identities, the architecture of our universe, the experience of life, and beyond…

But the concept of duality isn’t new. It’s been explored for thousands of years in philosophy, religion, and spirituality. It has been a core theme in Eastern religions such as Taoism, represented by the Yin Yang which depicts complementary forces creating union. They symbolize the balance between opposites, and this balance is what makes the universe whole.

From a more philosophical perspective, duality is the idea that two opposing forces can coexist, such as light and darkness, cold and warmth, positive and negative. This is the fundamental idea that life has separation – that there are always two sides to the same coin.

Within the framework of duality, opposing forces are either complementary or codependent. For example, male and female are separate sides of the same coin and rely on one another to reproduce. Likewise, masculine and feminine energies are often seen as opposites, but they complement one another and create balance.

If you were to remove the existence of either light or darkness, the universe would break. It simply doesn’t work without two opposite sides of the coin, this applies to many things including:

    • Life and death
    • Hot and cold
    • Good and evil
    • Happy and sad
    • Positive and negative
    • Masculine and feminine
    • Big and small
    • Start and end

And way too many to list here…

Fundamentally, duality creates balance. Imagine if everything was in absolutes. If nothing bad exists, then there would be no learning, growth, or contrast that allows us to truly appreciate the good. If death didn’t exist, could life too? If someone is confident, the characteristic of being shy must exist too. If something is big, there must also exist something small. If something is hard, then it implies the existence of easy things.

Two constituents create a balance – or narrative. Life as we know it exists within this balance.

Recognizing duality is recognizing that life isn’t made up of absolutes but of a balance between opposites. Each of these opposites exists not in isolation but in relation to the other.

Duality in psychology and human experience

    law of duality

Duality also plays a role in the idea of dualism where two distinct elements coexist. From a more psychological perspective, we often view duality as the interplay of emotions, thoughts, perspectives, and seemingly opposing parts of oneself.

Duality in psychology refers to things like the heart versus the mind, love versus hatred, logic versus intuition, reason versus creativity, and all of these seemingly opposing (but complementary) dynamics we experience daily. After all, even our brains are divided into separate hemispheres, each with a separate function that together creates balance. Therefore, you could say duality is a part of us because it’s coded into our biology.

With that said, when we talk about duality, it’s not just about big, abstract concepts like light and dark. It shows up in our everyday lives, too – especially in the way we think, feel, and act. It’s that inner conflict, that push and pull between opposing forces inside us.

In psychology, duality can help explain we might feel super confident one minute and then insecure the next. It explains why we can feel torn, such as when your heart says one thing and your mind says another.

Although together everything makes a cohesive whole, there are separate parts of our psyches. Sometimes these separate parts work together to achieve a common goal, sometimes they want nothing to do with one another.

Another example is emotional duality. We might feel love and frustration toward the same person at the same time. We can have deep affection for someone and still be irritated by certain things they do. That’s the dual nature of our emotions. They’re not all good or bad. We can hold conflicting feelings at once, and it’s this blend that makes us these messy, confused animals we call humans!

This internal balance helps us navigate the world and make based decisions. It’s why we have to learn to be okay with the fact that we can be many things at once: strong and vulnerable, confident and insecure, happy and sad – because these opposing forces aren’t in competition. They’re simply different aspects of the same person.

Exploring duality from a spiritual perspective

    Duality in spirituality

Duality in spirituality is a property of this dimension, and likely others too, but not all of them. Many religions and spiritual belief systems talk about the collective consciousness, or source, or a state of singularity of consciousness where duality doesn’t exist.

A common theme in various spiritual traditions denotes the importance of balancing opposites. whether it’s in the form of Yin and Yang in Taoism, forces of light and dark in Zoroastrianism, or navigating happiness and suffering in Buddhism… When we stop trying to separate good from bad, we can begin to see the world as a cohesive whole.

Life becomes more fluid, less about right and wrong, and more about experiencing consciousness for what it is.

This isn’t to say that everything in life is balanced or that duality is something we’ll resolve here. After all, duality is a law of the universe, and when we sign a contract to come to this confusing land of opposites, we do so undergo a broad range of experiences – like a spiritual theme park.

See, life isn’t a dystopia, nor is it a utopia. Our universe is a sandbox where all sorts of experiences can happen, and that’s duality’s hand playing its role.

Life can be heaven on Earth, full of love, bliss, gratitude, joy, community, companionship, adventure, and you name it.

But when the dark side of life is illuminated, you will see everything that’s wrong with this world: The suffering, greed, hostility, destruction, poverty, corruption, conflict, disease, fear, hatred, and sickness we all carry. Many people spend their lives caught in the dark side of duality, which turns their realities into personal hells.

So, when we zoom out and look at the universe, whether on a quantum scale or the grand cosmic scale, duality is everywhere. It’s in the laws of nature, the way galaxies collide and merge, the balance of forces that shape our world.

Embracing duality for integration and wholeness

    Self-integration

But what does duality mean in our everyday lives? How can understanding it help us navigate life a little easier?

Duality is about recognizing that life’s challenges and pleasures are two sides of the same coin. One variable can’t exist without the other, and they are thoroughly intertwined.

I see a lot of people trying to escape negativity, darkness, or sadness, believing that they are bypassing a natural experience of consciousness to experience a single constituent of duality when it simply doesn’t work like that because all it does is lead to disintegration, and a less than wholesome life experience. Part of living in a dualistic universe is to recognize that there are separate parts to everything, but at the same time, these separate parts are complementary – a symbiotic relationship if you will.

Existing in a universe of duality means that difference is an inherent part of existence here – one that needs to be embraced.

Things like negativity, pain, and suffering might not be what we’re looking for in life, but they’re deeply entwined parts of our lives that must be recognized as having a reason and purpose.

Fear can teach us to be cautious, sadness can help us process loss, and anger can teach us discipline. The role of pain is to drive growth. Suffering illuminates what we don’t want, and calibrates us with a more fulfilling direction in life.

Part of what makes life so perfect is the contrast, the challenge, and the thrill of it all. If you were to simply take the challenge and struggle out of the equation, you would also forfeit all of the benefits it provides.

    Think of it this way.

Through conflict, we understand the importance of harmony. Experiencing painful emotions like resentment helps us recognize the importance of higher emotions such as forgiveness. We are often torn between different desires, beliefs, and emotions, and this conflict is not something to escape, but something to learn from.

The good news is, that when we accept duality rather than resist it, we can start to find balance.

Practically speaking, embracing duality is a way of acknowledging that life’s complexities are part of a larger whole and that opposites aren’t always as separate as we might think.

    Because let’s be real.

It’s easy to get caught up in the idea that we have to pick one side or the other. We often feel like we need to choose between being happy or sad, strong or weak, successful or humble. But the truth is, life isn’t about choosing sides…

It’s about learning to accept both.

Embracing duality means being okay with contradictions in yourself and the world around you, and what we often see as conflicting or opposites relies on one another to provide this stage for you to experience life. It’s all part of a grand system, and if you pull out the gears, the entire thing breaks.

This doesn’t mean we need to live in a constant state of conflict or sadness, but it does mean we get to experience all the diversity that our universe offers, which allows consciousness to have one hell of a ride here.

At the end of the day, duality is what makes life so wholesome.

  • Integrating Your Masculine and Feminine Energy

In today’s world, finding the right balance between our masculine and feminine sides is becoming increasingly difficult.

Unfortunately, the drive to become more independent, more powerful, and more prominent often comes at the sacrifice of feminine qualities. Instead of finding a healthy middle ground while being authentic to ourselves, we move out of alignment and disintegrate.

Therefore, we lose touch with the wisdom of spirituality and rather salute the left-brained scientific approach. Instead of being in touch with feelings or valuing intuition, we replace these feminine qualities with a drive to endlessly work and achieve.

To live a wholesome life, you need to find a balance between your masculine and feminine energy, rather than suppressing one or the other.

This will set a much stronger foundation to live as an integrated individual who is in alignment with these two different, but equally valuable energies.

If you’re not sure what masculine and feminine energies are, start with the article I wrote below:

    Why we need integration

We live in an age where many women are abandoning their femininity to become more like men. Likewise, many men are abandoning their masculinity to become more feminine.

However, we’re missing the mark because these people are suppressing a side of themselves rather than integrating these two distinct energies. Therefore, we blotch ourselves in an attempt to meet the expectations imposed by the ideals of a masculine-minded society.

As each person needs to engage both their masculine energy and feminine energy to live a fulfilling life, it’s necessary to find a balance between them.

We’re reaching a point where the pendulum is at the cusp. Integrating the divine feminine is needed more than ever to return balance to an increasingly toxic society – And each person in it.

You can learn more about divine masculine and feminine energies on a collective level in the article below:

    Why integration is necessary

The law of duality - the mind body connection

Although most people have a dominant energy, everyone can tap into both their masculine and feminine energy, like drawing water from a well.

If you suppress your feminine side, you’re omitting all the qualities that correspond with feminine energy such as intuition, empathy, and emotional intelligence. If you neglect your masculine side, you won’t develop traits associated with masculine energy.

Each energy has strengths and weaknesses, which is why it’s important to find a balance that works for you. That’s why the integration of both masculine and feminine energy is key to wholeness and fulfillment.

Let’s explore what a healthy balance of masculine and feminine energy looks like:

    Healthy masculinity

Healthy masculinity is a balanced level of masculine energy. This is where you embody the positive traits associated with masculine energy, but these traits are balanced with feminine traits.

When there’s a healthy balance of masculine and feminine energy, men are strong, driven, and protective, but also in touch with their emotions.

Balanced men are in touch with spirit. They are caring, generous, compassionate, and loving. The feminine energy gives their drive meaning – Rather than being driven by meaningless pursuits such as greed or status.

    Health masculinity is:

    Toxic masculinity

Without a counterbalance, masculine energy can be self-destructive, aggressive, and domineering.

A disproportionate level of masculine energy to feminine energy leads to many of the problems we have today – Including oppression, destruction, and warfare.

Without the divine feminine, the masculine has no leash. It mutates into a destructive monster that prioritizes growth and expansion over empathy and compassion.

    Toxic masculinity is:

    Empowered femininity

Empowered femininity is a balanced level of feminine energy that is no suppressed by masculine energy, but supported by it.

When there’s a healthy balance of feminine energy, women are gentle, intuitive, and caring, but there’s also a fire inside. There’s a desire to grow, change, and create.

An empowered woman is a force to be reckoned with – One who nourishes everything she touches and is deeply in touch with spirit, but also independent and powerful.

    Empowered femininity is:

    Disempowered femininity

Disempowered femininity is a disproportionate balance of feminine energy to masculine energy. This is where there is no masculine energy to assert the feminine constructs.

The divine feminine is the input, meaning it has no way to assert itself without masculine energy evolved in the equation.

Without masculine energy to support the feminine energy, there would be no propeller. Stagnation would occur as there would be minimal growth without the masculine counterpart to assist it.

    Disempowered femininity is:

Imbalances of masculine and feminine energy

Separation of masculine and feminine energy

Integrating your masculine and feminine energy allows you to have the best of both worlds by knowing when to step into your feminine, and when to step into your masculine. There is usually a dominant energy and supportive energy, and you can shift between them, depending on what is needed.

If you’re helping someone or being supportive in some way, you may shift into your feminine to tap into the compassion and care of feminine energy.

When you’re working towards a goal or trying to achieve something specific, you may step into your masculine to channel that forward momentum, and become more confident and assertive.

Balancing these energies within yourself contributes to harmonious relationships with other people, and a sense of wholeness in oneself.

Rationality and intuition work together to make well-rounded decisions. Rather than being ruthless in the pursuit, ambition is contrasted with gentleness and care. Masculine energy and feminine energy complement one another, and when you’re in touch with both of them, you feel more complete.

Here are some ways you can nurture both masculine and feminine energy.

Are you divine feminine or masculine?

Whether you have predominantly feminine energy or masculine energy should be fairly easy to tell.

If you have more masculine energy than feminine energy, you will display more traits, qualities, characteristics, and attitudes that are associated with masculine energy and the left hemisphere of the brain. This may mean you’re more solution-oriented, analytical, productive, and goal-oriented.

You may have a strong drive and a lot of ambition – qualities that are associated with masculine energy.

On the other hand, if your feminine energy is stronger than your masculine energy, you will display more traits, qualities, characteristics, and attitudes associated with feminine energy and the right hemisphere of the brain.

Being in your feminine means you may be more in touch with your emotions and intuition. You’re likely to be nurturing, compassionate, and creative. You know how to surrender to the flow of life and let it take you where it will, rather than forcing your will upon it to carve out your path.

If your feminine energy is much stronger than your masculine energy, you can balance it by adopting more traits and characteristics associated with masculine energy, and vice versa.

    Nurturing feminine energy

To align more with your feminine side, the dynamic needs to change from outwards to inwards.

Prioritize and adopt more traits and characteristics associated with feminine energy, while transitioning away from traits that are associated with masculine energy.

Here are some ways you can nurture your feminine side:

    • Practice spiritual disciplines:  Practices such as meditation and yoga are feminine as they work with being, and help people connect with spirit.

    • Get into your body: Get out of your mind and into your body through acts such as movement, dance, singing, art, and writing.

    • Slow down: Stop rushing around, planning, organizing, and always being on the on switch. Learn to slow down and smell the roses.

    • Stop trying to control:  It’s important to stop trying to control everything in your life. Allowing yourself to let go and surrender to the universe helps you tap into feminine energy.

    • Learn to rely on trust and faith: Cultivate a deeper sense of faith, and trust in the universe to provide.

    • Tap into your intuition: Learn to tap into your inner knowing and gut instinct, rather than solely relying on logic and reason.

    • Spend a lot of time in reflection: As feminine energy is inward-oriented, people in their feminine tend to spend a lot of time thinking, reflecting, and introspecting – Often leading to greater self-awareness and personal growth.

    • Stop trying to be someone: Racing to the top of the status hierarchy is a masculine pursuit. Being in your feminine is to be at peace with who you are, and to realize you are everything you need.

    • Prioritize heart-based values: Shift your focus towards heart-centered values such as compassion, love, and generosity rather than mind-based values such as financial success and achievement.

    • Create: Nurture your creative side by creating music, art, poetry, and literature.

    • Connect more deeply with the natural world: Mother nature is feminine. The more time spend in nature soaking up the elements, the easier it will be to embody your femininity.

    Nurturing masculine energy

To align more with your masculine side, the dynamic needs to change from inwards to outwards.

Start by embodying more characteristics that are associated with masculinity and transitioning away from traits that are associated with feminine energy.

Here are some ways you can nurture your masculine side:

    • Take a proactive stance towards life: Realize that life is a manifestation of your making, and actively pursue your goals and ambitions to create a better life for yourself and the people you care about.

    • Fight for what you love: Embody a mission in life, and devote your life to that cause. This will not only give you something to fight for, but it will help you find purpose.

    • Take more control: Identify what is within your realm of control, and start moving the pieces to progress your life, or other people’s lives forward.

    • Get physically active: Do more activities that boost your testosterone levels such as going to the gym, playing sports, and taking some calculated risks.

    • Cultivate your leadership abilities: Aim to be a leader in some area of your life, and become as independent as you can. Become a leader in your career, a thought leader, a leader in your family – And take control of the situation.

    • Prioritize independence over interdependence: Spend more energy on providing for yourself and other people, while relying on your skills and abilities to survive.

    • Become more ambitious: Push towards your goals and avocations with force by making them the cornerstone of your life.

    • Become solution-oriented: Instead of focusing on what’s wrong, focus on solutions and how you can bring about a practical solution to the situation.

    • Set boundaries: Know what you’re fine with, and what you aren’t. Learn to assert your boundaries, and take action when they’re crossed.

Integrating your masculine and feminine energies

    self-reflection in nature

By acknowledging the presence of both energies within yourself, you open the door to a more balanced self-expression.

You can’t necessarily be very masculine and very feminine at the same time. If you’re in your masculine, you tend to drop out of your feminine. If you’re in your feminine, you tend to drop out of your masculine.

Therefore, know when it’s time to engage your masculine, and when it’s time to engage your feminine.

When you’re at a point in your life where you feel it’s time to get shit done – To be inspired, to become an unstoppable force, engage the masculine. Channel the energy of the warrior, and use it to drive you towards your destination.

When you’re hurting and need to heal, recover, reflect – Engage the feminine. If you’re in a supportive role, tap into your feminine energy to support and heal.

Therefore, life should be a dance.

Knowing how to tap into your masculine and feminine makes you a powerful, whole person. Start finding a balance in your life, and leverage these energies for different purposes.

  • The Prophecy of the Eagle And The Condor

The Prophecy of the Eagle And The Condor

The story of the eagle and the condor is an ancient prophecy told by native Americans.

This prophecy is well known within the Andean healer circles, and having sat in many ceremonies myself, it’s something I’ve become familiar with.

Unlike many stories that don’t make a whole lot of sense, I truly believe in the prophecy of the eagle and the condor and see it unfolding more with every passing moment. Now we’re entering the golden age of this prophecy as it becomes more relevant now than it ever has been before.

So what is what does this prophecy predict? What can we learn from it?

Well, I’m going to shed some light on it here, so let’s get into it.

    Understanding the prophecy

    Qero people of peru

The story of the eagle and the condor represents the masculine and feminine constituents of civilization and the interplay between them.

Within this prophecy, these two birds resemble the yin and yang of our civilization. The eagle represents the divine masculine construct, while the condor represents the divine feminine construct.

Originally told by the Q’ero, the two birds once flew in the same skies until the early 1500s, which resembled a shift in the collective humanity. The eagle people who resembled power and expansionism drove away the condor people who represented culture and tradition.

The separation of these two birds symbolized the division between Eastern and Western culture, and the shifting into a new era of humanity. The era of European settlement had begun, and this marked a movement into the era of the eagle.

    The beginning of the pachakuti

It is said that every 500 years comes a new era called a Pachakuti. A pachakuti resembles a shift in the collective consciousness between a mind-oriented humanity (masculine) and a heart-oriented humanity (feminine).

In other words, a Pachakuti resembles the uniting of the divine masculine and feminine energies on a global scale.

The previous Pachakuti symbolized the era of the eagle, and a swing into the masculine dynamic of the collective consciousness.

The period of the Eagle began with the age of Western colonialism. Since then, the world has become rife with industrialization and expansion. Values have become more materialistic, while much of the ancient wisdom in our civilization was lost.

This era has carried on to the present day and is responsible for the lifestyle people typically lead (busy, productive, active). This era is a reflection of where the collective humanity is right now, and what values we collectively inherit.

We’re now entering the next Pachacuti, which represents a collective shift towards the feminine. This signifies a shift towards heart-centered values, culture, and tradition.

It’s only a matter of time until the eagle and the condor reunite, bringing balance to the world, and signifying a new era of consciousness that humanity will (and has already begun to) reach.

    The era of the eagle

The eagle resembles the masculine constituent of duality. The current construct of our world is in the Eagle paradigm which reflects our cognitive, expansionistic, technological world.

Since colonialism, the world has undergone a boom of development. Globalization has gobbled up the furthest reaches of civilization, and in the process, we have lost our connection to spirit. Wealth has become the driving factor of society, while our cultural mentality is to accrue.

The modern world moves with a sense of urgency, and people feed into the idea of always doing, achieving, and succeeding. Western culture is centered around the structure’s function. It’s like a giant machine that we’re all little cogs of.

Western cultures tend to be analytical, logical, and efficient. Due to this construct, science takes precedence over spirituality. Much of the ancient wisdom of humanity has been buried under the louder, but more superficial values and ideologies of Western society.

The Western machine is evolving with every passing minute. This results in massive displays of products, businesses, and franchises. You have everything you could dream of, yet it feels so hollow.

    The era of the condor

The condor represents the divine feminine aspect of our civilization. This is the heart of the body, while the eagle represents the mind.

The condor represents Eastern culture. Spirituality, culture, and tradition take precedence, as do qualities that are closely associated with the divine feminine such as compassion and intuition.

The Eastern cultural mentality tends to be warm and passive, as opposed to productive and active. The Eastern mindset is more about community and connection. Think about the old way of life before colonialism, where people lived closely with the land in small communities.

There is a different paradigm at play which is less concerned with materialism because people have different values that are more intrinsic. There’s an attention to detail that is missed in the masculine construct, as the condor way of life is to stop and smell the roses.

As Eastern culture tends to lack the drive and ambition found within the masculine construct, many Eastern cultures are still developing. The beautiful thing about these places is not the booming economies, impressive technology, or vast city skylines, but the gentle flow of existence.

The Eastern cultural mentality is to live simply. People aren’t always looking into the future with the burden of needing to make something out of their lives. Mother nature provides all, and is given back to to keep balance with the planet.

Union of the eagle and condor

    condor 4434285 1280

Big movements are happening around the world, right now, and it’s becoming evident that humanity is making a pushback to our roots (spurred by the consequences of our overindulgence and greed).

Spirituality is starting to make a resurgence, as with older traditions, ceremonies, and cultures.

We are seeing a push towards the intrinsic realm, where spiritual practices like meditation and yoga are becoming more prevalent. The collective mindset is gradually changing as we see the dysfunction caused by the untamed masculine paradigm.

It is evident that the paradigm of the eagle and the condor are converging, and this signifies the next leap in consciousness for our species.

    The shift in humanity

Eastern values are making a resurgence in the modern world. Whether these values revolve around developing a stronger connection with spirit and our ancestral roots, cultivating a deeper sense of meaning, or just slowing down.

These intrinsic values are creating a counterbalance to the Western machine. Western cultures are beginning to adopt practices, ideologies, knowledge, and mindsets from Eastern cultures. More people are turning to traditional practices such as ceremonies and rituals.

People are beginning to question the driven but hollow behemoth of a system, and seeking presence, community, and warmth more than ever. In the age of communication, every day is nudging a toenail closer, and integrating further to unity. We are returning to our roots and the lost wisdom of our ancestors, and this is a key to the next stage of our evolution.

    Integrating civilization

Both the masculine and feminine paradigms have their advantages and disadvantages. Neither is better or worse, just different.

For an effective civilization that steps forward instead of backward, it needs to integrate both the masculine and feminine constituents. With a balance between the two, we would have a much more unified civilization.

Humanities evolution will speed up and the collective consciousness will evolve through this process. But we must do our work to encourage this movement of integration, as our current paradigm is unsustainable.

For humanity to thrive, we must integrate masculine and feminine principles into our own lives. This allows us to find balance within ourselves, and reflect this among the collective.

    Predictions for the future

As this Pachacuti is currently underway, we’re going to see some big changes in all aspects of life.

I’m going to tell you what I predict will happen based on current trajectories. These are only predictions, so take them with a grain of salt.

    • Decentralization of power: More people will seek to live communally and sustainably. We are seeing this in the movement towards self-sustainable communities, and the growing concern of government overreach.
    • Resurgence of ceremonies: As going to a bar or cafe is a common occurrence now, ceremonies and rituals will become commonplace in the future.
    • Spiritual education: Spiritual practices and education of spirituality will become a common theme within society. Spirituality will become a recognized part of life.
    • Self-sustainability: Many people will source their food and resources, rather than rely on corporations.
    • Shift in values: Collectively, we’re going to start valuing different things. Instead of materialism, wealth, and status, we will value community, connection, and the simple things in life.

With that said, we’re in an exciting, and pivotal era of human consciousness. Encouraging the Eastern paradigm to join in harmony is how we move further as a species.

We are closer to that day than we think.

  • How To Understand Duality In Spirituality: A Simple Explanation

The concept of duality extends into every aspect of life as we learn to understand it – rationally, philosophically, and spiritually. Here we’re going to focus on duality in spirituality so that you can better navigate yourself within this bizarre realm of polarity.

    What is duality?

You can look at duality as a mechanism of our universe and other realms of consciousness too. In a nutshell, duality translates to separation. Where separation exists, duality exists. In realms or states where separation doesn’t exist, duality doesn’t exist.

    Think of it this way…

There must be two sides to the same coin to create contrast. Without opposite but complementary values, one constituent cannot exist. It’s this polarity that creates space for narrative, as life is experienced within this polarity.

In other words, for a gradient or varying degree of something to exist, there must be two opposite extremes. Imagine that each condition can be seen as a string (or spectrum) from A to Z, and when we put all of these strings together, our universe becomes a circus of all sorts of wild and wacky experiences.

For example, if malevolence didn’t exist, neither would benevolence because these constructs are opposite sides of the same string. You can’t simply cut out one side without breaking physics – Because good, bad, neutral, and everything in between are varying points along this same string.

Likewise, you can’t just have heat without cold, because temperature wouldn’t exist. You see… this would be an issue. Remove a variable and the entire program breaks – leading to error 404: Reality not found.

Duality is an inherent property of our universe for it’s coded into the laws of physics. If you took duality out of our universe, it wouldn’t function because duality is the program our universe operates on.

Now we’ve determined that duality is a core ingredient of physics, but you might be wondering why. Is there a deeper spiritual reason behind this law? Let’s have a look at what duality in spirituality means, and why this design principle matters.

So what’s the point of it all? Well, from a spiritual perspective, duality creates diversity of experience and a broader expression of consciousness. Life is strange, bizarre, and just about every label you can imagine because of contrast.

Think of our universe as a cosmic playground for consciousness to undergo a wide range of experiences.

If this universe is the architecture, duality is the design principle. It’s a spiritual law of the universe and a core ingredient of it, but it’s also a part of other realms too which is why duality is a spiritual phenomenon.

If dark spirits and light spirits (and individual spirits in general) exist on some level of reality, it’s because duality allows it. Without duality, there is no separation. All existence is one with absolutely no degree of separation, so wherever consciousness can exist individually, duality exists.

But it’s not just me thinking this. Duality is a prevalent spiritual doctrine seen in many religions around the world including:

    • Taoism: The yin-yang symbol comes from Taoism, and depicts duality as complementary rather than opposing forces.
    • Hinduism: Teachings of Hinduism recognize duality as Advaita Vedānta, in which we strive to achieve states of nonduality (divine union with god).
    • Buddhism: Duality is recognized especially within the context of happiness and suffering.
    • Zoroastrianism: This is where the concept of good and evil and the struggle for salvation took root.
    • Shamanic traditions: People who follow these bodies of wisdom believe in balance with the natural forces of nature, and dualistic paradigms.

When there is a common theme amongst various spiritual beliefs, it tells us that there’s something more to it. As different traditions believe in duality in spirituality rather than just a part of this universe, it shows us that there’s more than what meets the eye.

    Disconnection from god creates duality

Duality in spirituality is generally seen as a feeling of separation from the universe, or god. If you have spent time exploring different spiritual traditions, you’re probably aware that some divine state of consciousness exists, where separation doesn’t.

This state of consciousness is generally perceived to be the deepest layer of consciousness – the core of the onion, and is labeled as god, the collective consciousness, ultimate reality, oneness, source, and many other names depicting the same phenomenon – that we are all the same consciousness on the most fundamental level of reality.

After all, this is the cream of the crop for any spiritual seeker – to find our way back to god.

    So let’s break this down.

There are different layers to reality. You can imagine these different layers as different realms, or dimensions. For example, material reality, or the realm of man is just one layer of consciousness. The astral planes, or the realm of the soul is another layer of consciousness. And then ultimate reality, or the realm of god is another.

Let’s imagine realms as tiers. In this example, ultimate reality is the highest tier, and the source of all existence. This is the ultimate truth where duality does not exist. All that exists is god as one collective entity of all consciousness without separation.

I understand the astral realms as a middle tier. This is where individual souls exist in an energetic space void of Earthly constructs like time, space, and form. Since we exist here as individual souls, duality also must exist, otherwise a soul wouldn’t exist as a separate entity from god.

Being somewhat disconnected from god, there may be some duality, but not as much as in the material realms which are considered to be very separate from god.

That brings me the the lowest tier – material reality. Here, we exist as seemingly completely separate entities from one another and god. The experience of consciousness within our universe is very separate, meaning it’s the most disconnected from god – or source.

This is how I understand duality in spirituality – as a separating mechanism of the realm. The further a realm is from god, so to speak, the more disconnected and individualistic it becomes. The closer to god, the more that all things converge into a singular consciousness where souls, spirits, beings, realms, and dimensions don’t exist. All things simply are, and that’s what we understand as nonduality.

    Duality and the ego

In a nutshell, duality stems from our experience of separation from God or the universe. The more disconnected consciousness becomes from god, the more duality exists.

We’ve explored how duality is an inherent feature of dimensions depending on the proximity of source, but what actually causes separation?

The ego can be seen as the mechanism that separates consciousness from god. If something has an ego, it has some form of individual identity. Wherever there exists ego, there exists separation.

Humans obviously have egos, but do souls have egos? I believe so, because without an ego, it wouldn’t be a soul. A soul implies that it’s an individual, therefore, for it to exist as a separate entity, it must have an ego. Perhaps not to the extent of a human’s ego, but an ego nonetheless.

Other entities, energies, and expressions of consciousness exist separately too, meaning that all things that exist separately to god have an ego.

Inherently we must have egos, otherwise we wouldn’t exist the way we do now. But we tend to separate ourselves even further by labeling the self and other which reinforces the experience of separation.

Although people can experience ego-death which leads to the experience of absolute oneness with god via meditation and spiritual practice, that’s not the aim of it. As human beings, we should not strive to kill the ego, but to find balance with it, knowing that the ego is a core part of the human experience, and without it, we wouldn’t be here.

    What is nonduality (Totality)?

Depiction of god, ball of divine white light permeating every aspect of reality

Nonduality does exist, but as the deepest level of reality. People may tap into nonduality to experience the absolutism of consciousness, exemplified by monks who achieve states of samadhi during meditation, or a shaman who is dissolved into the cosmic rift with plant medicine.

Nonduality is a state of consciousness where there is no division whatsoever. All existence is a singular phenomenon without difference, separation, contrast, or polarity.

    Everything simply is.

Here’s my view about how totality fits into the framework.

Within reality, duality exists because we live in a dualistic realm. We are separate individuals, but there are also divine states of consciousness where duality does not exist. The further we journey into spirit, the more we converge with god – a single consciousness that all things (and all dimensions) are manifestations of.

Within nonduality, there is nothing besides one infinite consciousness. Some individuals may be able to experience nonduality while humans but must return to duality, otherwise, there would be no controller for their human vehicle.

Nonduality seems to be the ultimate goal of every soul, and every spiritual belief system – to eventually return back to god like raindrops returning to the ocean.

How does a soul transcend duality?

The path to oneness is generally understood to be achieved via spiritual practice and the pursuit of union with God – much like the journey that figures like Jesus and buddha are believed to have undergone.

Within the spiritual interpretation of duality, you first need to recognize the distinction between the body and the spirit. The body is a just vessel for a deeper consciousness, but it’s not ‘you’. Recognizing the body as something you have rather than are is the first step in disconnecting from the material and realizing a deeper oneness that is always there beneath the surface.

Therefore, there is only one way of transcending duality, which is to rejoin god as the only expression of consciousness that ever has, and ever will exist.

It may take many thousands of lifetimes to make your way back to god, but I do believe it’s every soul’s dharma – to transcend the illusion of duality, sooner or later, and recognize the only truth that really exists.

We have been given the perfect opportunity to learn, boot camp Earth – and it’s a tough one! We are free to experience all the contrast that the universe has to offer, and there’s so much to experience. Therefore, enjoy all that this dualistic realm offers while you’re here, because it’s certainly an interesting journey with a lot of learning and a lot of growth.

  • Divine Masculine and Feminine Energies: The Spiritual Perspective

There are stark differences between men and women, but do these differences solely stem from our biological makeup, or is there more to it?

Masculinity and femininity are manifestations of distinct spiritual energies – Recognized as the divine masculine energy and the divine feminine energy.

Masculine and feminine energies are not just a core part of all life – But of all existence itself. From planets to the universe, to spirits and deities. These two principal energies compose all things within this universe and beyond.

Here I’m going to explain what these two distinct, but complementary spiritual energies are, and how they work within the wider context of spirituality.

What are masculine and feminine energies?

Masculine and feminine energy - Yin yang - Duality

The existence of distinct masculine and feminine energies has been recognized in every culture and religion, spanning human history.

These distinct but complementary energies are represented in many religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, and Taoism. Within spirituality at large, they are recognized as separate, but complementary energies that compose all creation.

Essentially, the divine masculine and divine feminine energies are a mechanism for creation – Facilitated by the union of these two energies. In our universe, this mechanism translates as procreation.

The symbol of a yin-yang represents the polarity of masculine and feminine energy. This symbol depicts two opposite but symmetrical parts of the same form completing one another.

Yin energy refers to feminine energy.

Yang energy refers to masculine energy.

Neither side of the yin-yang is bigger nor smaller, neither side is superior nor inferior. They are each equally weighted, and equally valuable.

These distinct spiritual energies refer to the polarity between men and women, but everything is considered to be a manifestation of these two energies. Everything that is nurturing is a manifestation of feminine energy, while everything providing is a manifestation of masculine energy.

You can view the polarity of these energies as a part of duality. To read on about duality, click the link below:

    Masculine vs Feminine energy

Each energy has a very different purpose and works in very different ways.

You can imagine the divine feminine as the calm, soothing water, while the masculine is the fierce, raging flames.

The divine masculine is the shield, the bones encasing the heart where it acts as a sanctuary for the feminine. The feminine beats and pumps, it’s the soul, the heart. Bones are cold and empty without a heart. A heart is vulnerable and exposed without bones, but they are both fundamental in creating a functional body.

Each energy has a very different function.

Masculine energy is described as outwards, external, and expansive, while feminine energy is seen as inwards, internal, and receptive. Together they mutually benefit one another, creating a beautiful synergy.

    Masculine energy (yang)

    Feminine energy (yin)

    What is masculine energy?

    Man representing divine masculine energy

Masculine energy (or yang energy) is expansive, proactive, and protective. It’s outward-focused in nature, being self-asserting and self-propelling.

Yang energy is associated with the left hemisphere of the brain and tends to favor logic over emotion. This is why men generally tend to favor science over spirituality and reason over intuition – Because this construct aligns with the masculine archetype.

People in their masculine tend to take pride in their ability to provide and protect, and feel most in their element when doing so. They are generally assertive, outgoing, and active – in the sense of moving toward goals and planning their way toward their desires.

With that said, masculine energy isn’t restricted to particular traits or characteristics. Anything that has the spirit of giving and protecting is considered to be masculine in many cultures, spiritual doctrines, and traditions.

Examples of the divine masculine energy

The symbol for masculine energy has been a big part of our world’s culture, tradition, and history. There have been many historical and mythological figures that are seen as embodiments of the divine masculine energy.

Some icons of yang energy include:

    1. Zeus (Greek Mythology): Zeus is a representation of the divine masculine energy in his role as a powerful leader, protector, and provider. He is associated with attributes such as strength, authority, and rationality. Zeus’ ability to wield thunderbolts signifies his control over natural forces – Symbolizing the commanding nature of masculine energy.

    2. Shiva (Hinduism): Lord Shiva, a prominent deity in Hinduism, embodies the divine masculine energy differently. He’s depicted as the cosmic dancer and represents the nature of creation, preservation, and destruction. Shiva’s meditative and introspective aspects also portray the contemplative side of the Divine Masculine, emphasizing inner strength and self-awareness.

    3. Odin (Norse Mythology): Odin, the all-father embodies wisdom, knowledge, and the quest for truth. His willingness to sacrifice an eye to gain wisdom illustrates the pursuit of deeper understanding, a characteristic of the divine masculine energy. Odin’s role as a seeker of knowledge and leader of the gods emphasizes the importance of strategic thinking and foresight.

    4. Lugh (Celtic Mythology): Lugh, the Celtic deity associated with light and skill, represents the divine masculine qualities of mastery, creativity, and innovation. Lugh’s proficiency in various arts, such as music, poetry, and craftsmanship, showcases the diverse talents and creative potential of masculine energy.

    5. Virabhadra (Yogic Philosophy): In yogic philosophy, Virabhadra is a representation of the divine masculine energy’s fierce and protective aspects. As the warrior archetype, Virabhadra shows strength to protect what is valued. This archetype reminds us that the divine masculine energy is not about dominance, but also about courage in the face of challenges.

    What is feminine energy?

    Woman representing divine feminine energy

Feminine energy is a gentle and nourishing energy. Yin energy contrasts the active doing energy with a softer being energy. It’s a creative force that brings life to everything it touches.

The divine feminine is associated with the right hemisphere of the brain. It’s a creative and heart-centered energy. This is why women tend to be more compassionate, intuitive, and nurturing than men.

In the human world, you can see this energy in mothers, carers, and helpers. People who are empathetic, compassionate, and have a soft spot for the well-being of others are generally in touch with their feminine side.

When people are in their feminine element, they tend to be heart-centered and emotionally aligned. This leads to a stronger sense of intuition as people in their feminine tend to have strong emotional intelligence.

People who are in their feminine internalize their realities and become more being-centered. This often leads toward spirituality, introspection, and thoughtfulness.

Examples of the divine feminine energy

The embodiment of feminine energies in deities, goddesses, and mythological figures provides a lens through which we can understand the importance of the divine feminine.

These cultural representations demonstrate the reverence and admiration societies have held for feminine qualities throughout time.

By embracing these qualities, we honor the nurturing, intuitive, and transformative aspects that contribute to our holistic well-being.

Here are some examples of figures who represent the divine feminine.

    1. Goddess Isis (Egyptian Mythology): Isis represents the Divine Feminine energy with her roles as a mother, healer, and protector. She symbolizes the life-giving aspects of femininity. Her ability to restore her husband Osiris to life and her role in guiding and protecting her son Horus emphasize her strength, resilience, and compassion.

    2. Mother Mary (Christianity): Mother Mary embodies qualities of compassion, purity, and unconditional love. As the mother of Jesus Christ, she is seen as a symbol of maternal care. Her presence illustrates the tenderness and nurturing nature of the divine feminine energy.

    3. Lakshmi (Hinduism): Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and prosperity in Hinduism, represents abundance, beauty, and grace. She is celebrated for her ability to bestow blessings on those who seek her guidance. Lakshmi’s depiction as a goddess of prosperity demonstrates the nurturing qualities of the divine feminine, which creates growth and abundance in all aspects of life.

    4. Quan Yin (Buddhism): Quan Yin embodies mercy, serving as a compassionate guide who hears the cries of the suffering and offers solace. Often depicted as a bodhisattva, Quan Yin’s qualities emphasize empathy, healing, and the soothing presence of the divine feminine energy.

    5. Gaia (Greek Mythology): Gaia, the primal goddess of the Earth represents the life-sustaining qualities of the divine feminine. She is often depicted as the mother of all life forms, emphasizing the interconnectedness of all living beings and the vital role of the feminine in sustaining creation.

Can a person have both masculine and feminine energy?

    Duality

Even though masculine and feminine energies are distinct energies, every person has both masculine and feminine energy.

Men are generally more in touch with their masculine energy than feminine energy as men are the physical embodiments of masculine energy. Likewise, women generally have more feminine energy than masculine energy because women are the physical embodiments of feminine energy.

Although this is a general rule of thumb, some men are more in their feminine, and some women are more in their masculine.

Someone who is more feminine will be more in touch with the traits and characteristics aligned with this energy, and vice versa.

Although there’s nothing wrong with being more masculine than feminine, or more feminine than masculine, each person should aim for integration – Where they’re in touch with both energies to create a fulfilling whole.

Naturally, we will favor one energy over the other, but it’s important not to neglect the counterpart.

  • Here’s Why Science And Spirituality Go Hand In Hand

Here’s Why Science And Spirituality Go Hand In Hand

Science and spirituality are often seen as opposing constructs that want nothing to do with one another. After all, they’re contradictory, aren’t they? On one side On one side, we have team science: People who solely endorse the scientific method. On the other side, we have team spirituality: People who are glued to their belief systems. But what if science and spirituality go hand in hand, and have a lot more in common than you think?

But maybe we’re barking up different trees, and our own biases prevent us from seeing the middle ground that we can all agree on. Science and spirituality are different languages to understand our universe. But neither of these constructs is wrong, the same way Japanese isn’t wrong, just because you don’t speak it.

So let’s look at a balanced approach to where science and spirituality go hand in hand, and ponder the question of life from a higher perspective.

Finding the common ground between science and spirituality

    Group yoga

In a nutshell, science and spirituality are different ways of understanding our universe. Look at them as different languages of the universe.

Both of these languages have pros and cons, and each views reality from a different perspective.

For example, Spanish is a romantic language. It’s got a colorful palette for expression, but it’s not as efficient as German. German is a very structured and efficient language, but this comes at the compromise of expression.

Curiosity is the mother of science, to discover how things are the way they are, and wonder is the mother of spirituality, to understand why things are the way they are.

Science is the pursuit of reason. Spirituality is the pursuit of meaning.

Even though they seem so different on the outside, science and spirituality have a unique polarity. Understanding this polarity gives you a more holistic view of our universe.

Spirituality is considered the feminine counterpart. This is the intuitive language that speaks via the heart. Science is the masculine counterpart. This is the rational language that speaks via the mind.

One counterpart is pragmatic, while the other is philosophical. These two bodies of knowledge don’t compete as they’re seeking different answers.

The goal of spirituality is to seek understanding beyond this dimension of experience. Science is a method to learn about our physical universe.

Neither science nor spirituality is irrelevant in the quest for understanding because they need each other to get a full picture of what the heck we’re doing here!

    Understanding the language of science

    Depiction of science

Science has proven itself to be an accurate way of understanding how our reality functions.

The mother tongue of science is mathematics. Science provides empirical evidence, research, and theories through various branches such as physics, chemistry, and biology. Each discipline is highly specialized, which allows us to study any given subject with precision.

Even if there’s no objective evidence, science uses its knowledge to provide plausible theories about any given subject. The findings are usually pretty conclusive which makes life a whole lot easier. This makes science an accurate language that provides all the little details about our universe in general.

    Strengths of science

Science is objective as it’s all about gathering reliable data that’s not based on dogma or blind faith.

The thing about the scientific method is that it can be replicated. Due to all the scrutiny, review, and continuous refinement inherent in the process, information gathered through it is generally quite solid.

There is not much room for misinterpretation, opinion, or bias which gives it a certain degree of trustworthiness. As researchers can verify findings and build upon them, this gives the information another layer of validity.

The scientific method is a also powerful tool for solving complex problems. By systematically analyzing data and testing potential solutions, the scientific method is perfect for addressing challenges in various fields.

    Limitations of science

Science is accurate, but short-sighted. It can only work in its immediate proximity.

Science can only move as fast as our research. In general, it’s a slow process to get hard evidence about something. We can’t move faster than what our technology, methods, and capabilities allow.

As the scientific relies on data that can be observed and measured, this is a limitation as there’s a whole lot about our universe that simply can’t be measured.

What we once thought we knew has been replaced by more recent discoveries, and what we currently know will be replaced by future discoveries. So is it actually that reliable?

And not to say that the research isn’t subject to bias, corruption, and influence. Have you ever wondered who funds the research, and if there’s an ulterior motive to it?

    What’s inside the box

To a monkey, politics don’t exist. This isn’t because politics don’t actually exist, it’s because the concept is way beyond the comprehension of a monkey.

Humans are quite similar. We very much have a what’s in the box view of reality, while anything outside of that box is considered to be nonsense, of course, until science catches up.

Many concepts are simply out of the range of science. We may be able to break matter down into tiny particles, but can we explore what’s outside the universe? Can science measure consciousness, spirit, other dimensions, and singularities?

Considering how far science has come, it can only understand so much about our immediate proximity. The amount of information we have access to is probably just a fraction of what’s out there.

This is one of the major downfalls of the scientific method. If you can’t prove it, it mustn’t exist at all!

Simply put, there is no way of understanding what we don’t know because we have no way to perceive outside the box.

Perhaps, we can’t know some of the deeper mysteries of existence via the scientific method, because they’re simply too complex for us to measure.

    Knowledge is favored over wisdom

Science is pragmatic. This is good for breaking down information, but it’s not for looking at the bigger picture.

Scientific theories are based on knowledge. This isn’t a bad thing as these theories are often fairly accurate, but it becomes very matter of fact, rather than exploring what could be.

Conventional science has no standing in subjects such as morality and ethics, philosophy, or spirituality. Can science tell you how to be a good person, and how to find fulfillment in life? Can science disprove god, just because god hasn’t been tangibly observed?

Our conventional methods, technology, and knowledge are great for some things, but at the end of the day, science is just a tool.

    The language of spirituality

    The language of spirituality

Spirituality looks at the grey zones that science can’t. It’s the more colorful language of the universe, that speaks experientially rather than pragmatically.

While science inspects the rules that govern this physical realm, spirituality looks at why these rules exist in the first place. It looks at the backstage rather than the show. It is about discovering what’s beyond matter, rather than what it’s composed of.

Spiritual practices are a medium to connect with these deeper levels of existence. People connect with spirit via meditation, ceremony, rituals, mysticism, shamanism, and other spiritual modalities.

    Strengths of spirituality

Spirituality is a search for meaning which leads people to explore their consciousness and live happier lives.

The spiritual model encourages self-exploration and personal insight. This is the approach that meaning to life must be cultivated within, rather than searching outwards for meaning.

As spirituality is experiential, it’s something that you connect with. Even though these dimensions of experience may not be proven with science, people who experience transcendent states of consciousness will agree with absolute certainty that there’s a whole lot more than what meets the eye.

As someone who has explored various cultural modalities and has had transcendent experiences myself, the experience is proof enough, yet it can’t be communicated to people who are thinking through a scientific lens.

    Limitations of spirituality

Since spiritual wisdom cannot be proven, analyzed, or even well understood, this makes it subjective.

Because the experience is so personal, many people can lie about their experiences or makeup stuff, and nobody has any way of verifying it.

This makes it difficult to discern people who are having real experiences from people who are pretending.

Without the ability to communicate with one another, there’s no baseline. How can you possibly compare experiences or find common ground, considering any given experience could be exaggerated or played up to be more profound than it was?

Many people around the world claim to have spiritual experiences that can’t be explained by science. But an issue is that nobody else can witness these experiences when they could be something that’s easily explained.

We know the mind is a powerful thing, so could it be that many of these spiritual experiences are just anomalies in the person’s mind?

The problem with spirituality is that no matter how many crazy interdimensional experiences you’ve had, the best you can do is say you don’t know for sure.

Furthermore, everyone has different beliefs and understandings Even though there are commonalities and universal principles, people will interpret spirituality differently depending on their personal experiences with it.

The subjective, and personal nature of spiritual experiences makes it hard to properly identify. Therefore these experiences are extremely difficult to study or learn more about in the scientific framework.

    Spirituality without dogma

Let me make this very clear. Spirituality is different from religion. Religions are simply interpretations of spirituality, and dialects of the mother tongue.

But spirituality itself has no dogma. It has no rules. Stripped to its skeleton, spirituality is a search for a deeper meaning that transcends this physical reality. Paying with the idea of different dimensions is well and truly beyond us.

So we create stories to try and understand what’s really going on here.

In this sense, spirituality is the notion that something beyond this universe exists. But at this point, all we have are theories, and this is the role that religions play.

So don’t believe that dogma is a part of spirituality, because the core of spirituality is finding your own journey towards truth, and applying this truth to live your happiest life.

    The core of spirituality

There are many different interpretations of spirituality and what it is. These interpretations vary wildly. Some religions will say spirituality is this, while other people will say spirituality is that

Spirituality has however had a presence for thousands of years, in every culture of the world. There are many similarities between these cultures and beliefs, pointing towards the same concepts and ideas. The concepts of spirituality connect all the dots between theist beliefs, cultural beliefs, and other ideas that have had a presence all over the world for thousands of years.

This is one of the intriguing things about spirituality, which does give it some validity, is that all interpretations and religions tend to overlap. I suggest you read the article below to gain a broader idea of this phenomenon.

The future of science and spirituality

Flower with atom in the middle

Science and spirituality are touching different parts of the giant elephant we call life, and recording it in different languages. But since these languages are so vastly different from one another, building a mutual understanding and respect is the hard part.

    Look at it this way:

Science pieces together the puzzle of life, to form a picture.

Spirituality looks at the picture these pieces create.

Science explores the micro – How things work.

Spirituality explores the macro – Why things work.

Together they work in unison, to connect the puzzle of life, and figure out what’s going on from both a rational perspective and a philosophical perspective.

It’s becoming more apparent that science is beginning to penetrate the realm of spirituality, and vice versa. Society itself is changing to accommodate the union of these two constructs. From something that once seemed so separate, we are starting to see them mesh.

Every day, science and spirituality inch closer together. We can see this through the interconnecting of cultures. Spiritual disciplines are becoming more accepted and widely accepted. Western medicine, ideas, systems, and structures have found their place in Eastern society.

The goal here is to have the best of both worlds. To have incredible science, while utilizing the wisdom of spirit.

It’s important to look at the possibilities of what science might understand in the future, and not get stuck to what it thinks it knows now. When you start looking at it this way, how can we possibly know what strange and alien concepts will be discovered, researched, and proven in the future?

Maybe in millions of years when the human genus has drastically evolved, given that we get that far, we will see modern humans the same way we see Neanderthal. This opens the door to exciting possibilities. As science explores distant concepts, perhaps the concept of spirituality, alternate dimensions, and higher-beings won’t seem so far-fetched.

Some of our modern discoveries are already pretty mind-blowing, so you can only speculate. Therefore, it’s important to take modern science with a grain of salt, even if it has been thoroughly tested, because new discoveries can always blow what we know out of the water.

You can only imagine what information is waiting to be discovered. Once realized, it opens your mind to new approaches for life, and an endless stream of possibilities.

    Remember:

    • Science and spirituality are different approaches to understanding the world, not necessarily competing ones.
    • Both can offer valuable insights and tools for living a meaningful life.
    • Open-mindedness and critical thinking are crucial when exploring either domain.
